Egress Window Installation
B-Sure Systems, Inc. can install egress windows in finished basements to help them be considered livable spaces. Egress windows also allow for natural light to enter the space.
IRC Requirements for Egress Windows
- Egress window opening bottom cannot exceed 44″ from finished floor
- Minimum egress window opening area is 5.7 square feet
- Minimum egress window opening height is 24″
- Minimum egress window opening width is 20″
- Egress window must have glass area of at least 8% of total floor area for natural light
- Egress window must have an opening area of at least 4% of total floor area for natural ventilation
- Multiple windows can be used to meet these requirements
